Garden of Eden - Kenya Guided Tour

With visits to Aberdare National Park, Lake Baringo, Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve, this trip might be better named Gardens of Eden. Island Camp Baringo adds the unique prospect of sailing by boat on the beautiful lake. 

Day 1   Nairobi
Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to the Tribe Hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at Tribe hotel in a deluxe room on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2   Nairobi - Aberdare
Leave Nairobi after breakfast to Nanyuki, heading north, you'll pass near Thika and continue north through some breathtaking scenery dotted with rushing mountain streams. Arrive at the Camp in time for lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive including a visit to the Chimp Sanctuary returning to the camp as the sun sets. Overnight at Sangare Tented Camp on full board basis.

Day 3   Aberdare - island Camp Baringo
An early morning start takes you west of Nyahururu, still known to many as Thomson's Falls for its 237 foot cascade. Enjoy some lovely Rift Valley panoramas as you travel to your next destination, the beautiful Lake Baringo. This is one of only two freshwater lakes in Kenya's part of the Rift Valley. Arrive in time for a late lunch. Here you will have time to take in the beauty of this area with high volcanic escarpments, open savannahs and high temperatures most of the year round. This is an area that is not visited by mass tourism and it gives you an opportunity to see rural African villages. After lunch the rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Day 4   Island Camp Baringo
Enjoy a morning boat ride After lunch visit the Njemps, an ethnic community related to the Masai but their culture is different in that they are fishermen as well as pastoralists.

Day 5   Island camp Baringo - Lake Nakuru
Heading south via Lake Bogoria, pass over the equator, and with the Rift valley's escarpments and hills on either side, you'll enjoy some lovely panoramas all the way to your next destination, Lake Nakuru. Here the lake is often coloured a shimmering flamingo pink from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores. Arrive at the camp in time for lunch and the afternoon is spent game viewing and bird watching around the lake. The park is home to many animals including buffalo, waterbuck, leopards, giraffes and is also a sanctuary for black rhinos. Overnight at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp on full board basis

Day 6   Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara
Leaving the flamingo fringed Lake Nakuru behind after an early morning breakfast, you head for Njoro town, where you begin your ascent up over the top of the Mau Escarpment. Then, heading due south, travel towards Narok, the gateway to the Maasai Mara and district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. You'll travel across the "breadbasket" of Kenya, covered with acres of wheat and barley, before you reach the Mara in time for lunch. After lunch depart for an afternoon game drive arriving back to the camp as the sunsets.

Day 7   Masai Mara
Morning and afternoon game drive including a nature walk.

Day 8 Masai Mara Game Reserve - Nairobi
After breakfast you'll depart the Masai Mara and head across acres of rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. From here cross the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley whilst keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle before heading up the rift escarpment. You'll arrive into Kenya's bustling capital in the early afternoon. The tour ends on arrival at your city centre hotel or at Nairobi airport.
