Zambia ![]() About ZambiaNo trip to Zambia would be complete without visiting the famous Victoria Falls where the mighty Zambezi plunges over 100 metres into a mile wide ravine, best viewed in July and August. The noise and bellowing ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya' can be experienced from view points in the rainforests, a thrilling helicopter flight over the Falls or on a relaxing Zambezi cruise.
The more adventurous may enjoy white water rafting or the ultimate bungee jump from the bridge above the gorge.
However, this is not the only attraction in this vast country. An abundance of wildlife can be found in Zambia's National Parks. South Luangwa National Park has prolific birdlife and the Luangwa Valley, hich marks the end of the Great Rift Valley, is the birthplace of the walking safari. The Luangwa River with its oxbow lagoons is inhabited by vast buffalo and elephant herds as well as being home to the endemic Thornycrofts Giraffe and Cooksons Wildebeest.
Kafue National Park is one of the largest parks in Africa and the open grassy plains, ravine vegetation and woodland contain many wildlife species. The Zambezi River meanders over 2700 km through the Lower Zambezi Valley and is ideal for canoeing safaris.
