Kamalame Bay

This 96-acre private island resort has been created for escapists, adventurers, honeymooners and nature-lovers - if you happen to be a combination of all four then it’s simply heaven on earth. It lies just off the coast of Andros and features three-miles of sugar-soft sandy beach and turquoise waters offering some of the best fishing and diving anywhere in the world.

The low-key hotel consists of just nineteen marina rooms, villa suites and cottage suites, most of them on the beach and furnished with due deference to their tropical setting. Complimentary food and beverage bars, as well as CD players feature throughout, but telephones and TVs would definitely spoil the mood.

Choose a spacious one-bedroom cottage or villa suite if you like the idea of elegant French doors and beautiful ocean views from your tub or shower, but if you’re travelling with the family, the two and three-bedroom properties will be more to your taste. For privacy and space, however, nothing quite beats the 4-bedroom Kamalame Cove with its elevated setting on four secluded acres attached by a narrow strip of beach to Andros Island.

Accommodation
Just a handful of rooms and suites are dotted around the island and the choice is yours:  Marina Rooms, Beach Rooms, individual Cottage Suites or the fabulous Villa Suites.  Every Cottage or Villa Suite is private and secluded, built from native stone and furnished with Indonesian furniture. For added luxury they have inviting verandas, 20 foot high wood beam ceilings, large bathrooms with oversized soaking tubs or showers with sea views and the ocean at your doorstep. All rooms are air-conditioned and have a hairdryer, ceiling fan, CD player, safe and mini-bar stocked with cheese, crackers, fruit and drinks and freshly baked cookies are delivered to your room every afternoon.

The Great House serves as a perfect place to rendezvous for meals and cocktails with the restaurant featuring Caribbean cuisine - Self-selection Tiki Bar by the pool - Swimming pool - Tennis court - Watersports including snorkel equipment and kayaks - Excellent scuba diving on site (additional cost) - Flat and deep sea boat fishing - Picnic excursions - guided walks - Eco tours - Spa with treatment rooms sitting over the water.
