French-born Jerome Rigaud has been appointed Executive chef at Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa, Mauritius, where he will use his wealth of experience at Michelin star establishments and palaces to add his own unique flavour to the luxury resort’s restaurants.
Bringing a personal touch to Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa, Rigaud will use his wealth of international expertise to elevate the already delectable cuisine to new levels. Marrying fresh local flavours and home grown fruits, vegetables and herbs from the kitchen garden with globally diverse tastes drawn from his in-depth experience of French, Japanese and Lebanese cuisine, Riguaud will create a dining experience unique to Maradiva.
A respected chef with over 15 years experience, Rigaud has seen his career progress under some of the world leading chefs, with classic French training directed by the 3 Michelin Star chef Joël Robuchon.
Following this, Rigaud honed his creative skills at Maison Troisgros, the Relais & Chateaux 3 Michelin star restaurant in Roanne, led by renowned chef patron Michel Troisgros. Most recently, he was employed as head chef at the Kremlin in Moscow where he prepared haute cuisine for heads of state and royalty. Rigaud, who received a Diploma of Honour from the “Toques Blanches du Monde” in 2009, prides himself as a hand-on chef who gets involved in all aspects of the culinary experience, and is looking forward to sharing his international knowledge with his new team.
