DAY 1 Arrive Johannesburg, South Africa Land in Johannesburg and transfer to your hotel. Tonight, enjoy a gourmet welcome dinner prepared with locally sourced ingredients. A professional photographer joins you to offer tips for the days ahead. DAY 2 Livingstone, Zambia Fly to Livingstone, Zambia, where you’re met by your A&K resident tour director. Continue to Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma and settle into your luxury treehouse built into the riverside canopy. At twilight, cruise the Zambezi River, sipping cocktails and gazing out across a verdant vista and gliding past pods of hippo, on a memorable scenic sundowner experience. DAY 3 Livingstone, Zambia This morning, Design your Day® – giving you the freedom to choose the experience that is best suited to you. Select from the following options: Option 1: View Victoria Falls from Zambia Option 2: Visit a village bike shop Option 3: Walk with rhino Return to camp for lunch and the rest of your afternoon at leisure. Tonight, enjoy a cocktail and a ‘Chef ’s Table’ tasting of traditional Zambian fare, followed by dinner. DAY 4 Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe - Chobe This morning, see these awe-inspiring falls from the Zimbabwean side. Afterwards, visit an artists’ village, where you can meet local artisans and observe them at work. Enjoy lunch in the town of Victoria Falls before continuing to Chobe National Park in Botswana. Here your scenic lodge offers panoramic views across the islands and floodplains of the Chobe River. Set out on an afternoon game drive – 120,000 elephant live in the park, as well as impala, buffalo, and you may also spot lion. DAY 5 Chobe National Park Head out on a sunrise game drive, when animals are most active. You might even glimpse a leopard returning from a hunt. Later, embark on a Chobe River safari cruise aboard a double-decker boat. Look out for crocodile and hippo, as well as elephant that come down to drink and play in the water. The park’s beautiful wetlands also lure a wealth of birdlife, with 460 species that either live here or migrate through, including raptors, vultures, and waterfowl. When you return to the lodge, revel in the comforts of your luxury accommodation and enjoy a freshly made meal. DAY 8 Okavango Delta Fly across the Okavango Delta to your next amazing camp, from where you will enjoy game drives in Moremi Game Reserve. Widely acknowledged as the ‘predator capital of the world’, this area is one of Botswana’s best places for spotting the Big Five. Hunters include cheetah, spotted hyena and, at the very top of the food chain, large resident lion prides. White and black rhino are also found here. This afternoon, enjoy game-viewing activities led by experienced driver-guides or observe the wildlife from your private deck. DAY 9 Okavango Delta Depart on another spectacular early morning game drive. Beyond predators, the Okavango Delta draws large concentrations of elephant, buffalo, red lechwe, giraffe, and impala. Enjoy a seasonal mokoro ride across deceptively quiet marshlands alive with crocodile, bathing hippo, tiny red reed frog, and many bird species. If you opt for an afternoon game drive, listen for roaring lion on the hunt or spy nocturnal animals starting out for the night. After a full day of wildlife-watching, return to your camp to relax and enjoy a farewell dinner. DAY 10 Depart Johannesburg, South Africa Fly from Botswana to South Africa, from where you’ll depart for home. Relax in the Premier Lounge at Johannesburg airport, compliments of A&K.
