Trip Hosted by Western and Oriental

Glitzy Vegas to laidback ranch living in Arizona – a complete contrast!

Las Vegas should be on every travellers bucket list.  For me a truly American experience encompassing everything you may be expecting and more.
Bright lights, spectacular shows, luxury hotels, vast casinos, dancing fountains, shops galore, every nationality of food you can possibly imagine, the Eiffle Tower, Gondola rides, a white knuckle rollercoaster ride, vast amounts of people and yet more casinos!

An extremely vibrant city which never sleeps and amazing experience you really must make time for.

So moving onto the Ranch, which is only an hours flight from Vegas to Tucson in Arizona.

With one of my passions being horse riding – ranch riding I have to say was right up there in the most fabulous experiences of my life.  Oh to be a Cow Girl!

White Stallion Ranch in Arizona was our truly amazing destination only a 40 minute drive from Tucson airport, a desert scene just like the set of a Western Movie (the ranch where the High Chapparall was filmed).
Our accommodation spacious, very comfortable with a Mexican feel and so quiet we were woken to the beautiful bird song.
Now for the beautiful horses – around 160 quarter horses superbly trained by the use of natural horsemanship of which they run taster clinics.
We were assigned our horse for the duration of our stay to enable us to bond and feel totally confident needless to say we became very attached.  The Wranglers were superb making sure at all times you were safe and having fun. Rides were amazing, slow or fast whichever took your fancy (as long as you had passed the Lope test which proved you were able to stop!).  These were mixed in with breakfast rides, wine tasting rides, barrel racing lessons (my personal favourite) and team penning – I am sure the cows saw us coming and gave us the run, around as it looks so easy when the cowboys do it.

In between riding and bathing our horses we managed a spot of sunbathing around the pool, the more energetic could play tennis, basket ball go to the gym, play golf on one of the many courses in the area or even have a massage.

There is also a rodeo at the ranch once a week showing you the amazing things the Wranglers can do!

Food at the ranch was superb (all included in the price) from Mexican buffets to cookouts with steak & ribs.  Followed by line dancing, star gazing, art classes or simply taking stock of the day with a beer or two from the bar – not to mention the Prickly Pear Margaritas.

An experience to be had with like minded friends, or family there is something for everyone.  Children would relish the experience.  I cannot recommend this holiday experience enough – given the opportunity I will certainly be back.
Western and Oriental our hosts for this trip have a very experienced specialist team offering a wide range of ranches in North America and Canada from working ranches to resort ranches depending on what you may be looking for and what type of riding you would like to experience.
